After upgrade , I am unable to see mouse cursor ( after login)
If I type sudo lshw -c display in terminal , I am able to get the
cursor.

Reporting second time the same problem in mouse cursor display after
upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04
Because while sending first time, the system display crashed in middle
of the report submission process. So I restarted the system and once
again submitting the same problem.

So far I was suffering with i845G crash issue.
After doing the patch fix as suggested in the Bug #541492 , there are
no issues now.
No crash. No mouse cursor problem.
I am just updating the patch fix information for reference.

system normally.
I have collected the troubleshooting information and submitted through

the menu.lst in grub) and went to lower version.
Now there is no mouse cursor issue.

During live cd booting , I have seen the error message Crash detected and
reported the same through the Bug #607363
But I am able to work normally in the system with mouse.
You can find below the display details and kernel details.

I have tested with only live cd only.
Already I am facing issues because of upgrading from 9 to 10.4
(There were no issues while I used the version 9)
So I am not sure what will be the issues if I upgrade from 10.4 to 10.10
through the update manager.

I started experiencing this hang after I upgraded from Kubuntu 13.04 to
13.10 yesterday (both 64 bit).
The freeze usually happens when I try to context switch between windows
running Firefox or between Firefox/Thunderbird windows. It also happens

Sometimes the hang happens even while browsing within a Firefox window.
I saw the following in dmesg around the time of the problems. I tried
Ctl-Alt-F1/Ctl-Alt-F7 and the graphics screen hung (black screen with

The following sequence causes a crash for me consistently:
1. Start LibreOffice writer (lowriter &).
2. Type in something.
3. File -> Save.
4. Type in a filename.
5. Click save.
Sometimes, the crash occurs when typing in a filename. At other times,
it happens when clicking save.
