Manoj lyer, have you mucked with the pulseaudio settings? I am pretty sure this issue is related to pulseaudio and not to anything else. My solution above worked just fine for me with Jaunty. I'll bet you might not even have to upgrade alsa in Karmic. Sure, perhaps pulseaudio should be configur
