I experienced this too a month ago. I still don't know to which package it's
related but I solved it by plugging my USB mouse to the PS/2 port, so if you're
using a (wireless ?) USB mouse, you can try this. I think it's a driver problem
but I can't be sure.

I'm having this problem too. I had a very hard time figuring what caused
me disconnections when traffic was high (Bittorrent for example), I
changed my router but the problem still appeared. When I was pretty sure
it was a Ubuntu/Linux Kernel issue only, I found the same error in

I too have this bug back in Karmic. Placing

I am experiencing the same issue on an up-to-date Ubuntu 16.04 install.
It seems to happen randomly. Nautilus doesn't launch and gives the error
previously reported if launched via command line. A restart fixes it
temporarily.

During the install process for Ubuntu 12.10 on a laptop with Nvidia
integrated graphics (GeForce 610M), the system isn't properly cooled,
temperature goes up above the safety limits (80.0°C and more) and shuts
down during install.
Temperature was normal with Ubuntu 12.04, and

Yes, the issue persits when booting into the Quantal fresh install. I
managed to install by manually cooling the laptop, but it was hard. The
only way to solve this that I know of is to install Bumblebee and
nvidia-current.

As requested, I installed and tested the upstream kernel 3.7 from the
link you provided, and I was unable to boot it. It was stuck on either
"loading initial ramdisk" or some message regarding modprobe. I am thus
marking this bug as confirmed with the tag 'kernel-unable-to-test-
I am extremely sorry about that, but I did some forensics because this
issue seemed strange, and I discovered that the GPU fan on my laptop
wasn't functioning at all. It's an hardware issue, so I apologize and I
am marking this bug as Invalid.

I get this too. On a fresh 11.10 install, the indicator icon never turns
blue, except when new mail arrives in Thunderbird. It's impossible to
know if you have unread messages in empathy if you missed the
notification bubble. Any workaround/fix yet ?

Binary package hint: firefox
When Firefox is minimized once, the global menu disappears almost every
time, showing nothing instead of the hidden title and the menu.
Restarting Firefox temporarily solve the issue, until the window is
minimized again.

Some apps don't integrate to appmenu after having their windows
I completely forgot to say that to be able to reproduce this bug, you
have to use the "Clean", "Simple" or "Blue" themes in Empathy. This
behavior disappears with the "Classic" or "Ubuntu" default theme.

I just got this crash when about to print an image in GIMP with an updated bamf
(0.2.84-0ubuntu1).
Aport started gathering info, but I didn't report because it was the same
report title than this one.
The launcher subsequently filed with an infinite number of Aport icons and
everything froze for
