I can confirm this bug in Evolution 2.28.1 on Ubuntu 9.10.
To reproduce:
1) Right click on Task list header.
2) Select "Add a column".
3) Select Priority.
4) In the priority column of any task, click it once, then select a different
priority from the list.
5) The selected task, plus the one belo
Yes, there should be enough memory (1 Gbyte) and swap (1,3 Gbyte).
Right now the memory usage is around 560 Mbyte and swap usage is around
15 Mbyte.
It is probably not Firefox itself, as you are saying, but some resources
it is using, which get stressed. Are you using a 3G connection as well?

Status update: I was surfing a while ago on the web site idg.se for
about fifteen minutes without any problems. Yesterday, the system
crashed sometimes after less than a minute. This happened about four
times in a row as soon as I was surfing the mentioned web site. Anyhow,
the system seems stable
Status update: Was working for a few hours yesterday evening (WLAN
connection) and today (3G connection) without any crash. I have been
using Firefox and visited the web site idg.se on which I have been
surfing when I have got the previous crashes. So far so good.

Ubuntu crashes and automatica
This is more critical than just a new version available. Using mod_fcgid
< v2.3.5 apparently has buggy upload behaviour for files larger than 64k
(per default, but in fact larger than the variable
FcgidMaxRequestInMem).

Can confirm the bug with latest updates on 10.04, HP tx2020eo laptop.
Problem did not exist on this machine in 8.04, appeared in 8.10, still
existed in 9.04, disappeared in 9.10, and now it is back again. And this
time it seems to affect wicd too, which earlier could be used as a
workaround.

I am not sure that my problem has been solved. Last week I googled some more

connection. The laptop has been running fine for a few hours with

There is a "kepad" hidden within the normal keys on the aspire one accessible
by pressing the function key.

I have had a few crashes since last post. This time I succeeded to
record the debug print outs from the modem-manager. Since I have not had
any crashes when running with the WLAN, I thought it could be

I ran into this bug after a fresh install of Karmic Koala followed by an
install of koffice-kde4.
Tried the suggested workaround above, "rm rm /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER/ksycoca4".
Thereafter it was possible to start kword.

I manage to get it working by installing a later kernel.
It works with 2.6.31-13 at least.
Perhaps the question is shouldn't the distribution update also update
kernel version?

The problem was irst and foremost kernel related but the question is perhaps
why didnt the kernel version update when i upgraded to karmic from jaunty.
