his comments posted above by Michael. But I am too waiting for a fix to

Doesn't work in my end either, Luke.
Did everything as you described in your post and, although I managed to
get the newly compiled & linked alltray to work, the panel background
color was now white instead of the color I'd manually set on the panel's
properties.
Thanks for the patch though!
PS:
BTW, by "panel background color" above I actually meant ICONS background
colors of 'trayed' applications.

Can confirm that on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, whoopsie-preferences had not
previously been installed and I'm pretty sure I've not removed it.

This affects me too.
Wasn't an issue in Xubuntu 16.04 with three monitors plugged in to my
desktop machine. However, after upgrading to 16.10 I am now getting
occasional screen flickering that worsens in frequency over time. This
seems to occur when the mouse pointer travels across monitors, with

Suffering from this issue since ever I upped the BCLK frequency of my i7
930 -- the reported CPU freq does not reflect the actual Mobo settings
(CPU-Z on Windows does, for instance.)
