I didn't noticed this with the 4 default workspaces but it's definitely
happening every time I do it for the first time since i change the
number of my workspaces fro m4 to 9).

I had this bug today (monday 12 september 2011) on bêta 1 with full update.
The same bug appeared a second time while Apport was gathering infos about this
one.
I had the unity dash opened and was trying to make a search among the files
with 5 stars when the bug occured ; but I'm not sure if it'
I'm also affected, NVidia graphic card, core 2 Duo CPU and 8GB RAM. The
load average is high in Ubuntu with Unity+Compiz 12.04 & Xubuntu 12.04
with Xfce+Compiz
