I'm not sure how Launchpad is supposed to work. The version that you
are using is out of the repo (0.5.30) but the latest released version of
the Me TV is 0.7.2. I don't know if this bug is supposed to stay here
because it's the version in the repo. 0.7.2 might solve your issue if
you are a DVB-

I think that this is a dvb-utils package issue, the initial scan/tuning
file that they provide is out of date. Channel 7 changed their Guard
Interval a little while back but Hardy users are still using the old
setting. Which region did you use to scan? If you can't remember then
look in /usr/sha

See if you can get the scan application working
(http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Scan). If you can't then there's a
more generic issue with your DVB setup i.e. a driver issue. If you can,
then you can use the resulting channels.
This issue is fixed in upstream 0.7.2.

I think that the memory leak is part of the libxine version in Ubuntu, I
notice that totem-xine has the same issue. In which case, the existing
version (0.5.17) probably has the same issue so I'll be pushing to
Debian in the next couple of weeks.

the time, even on the day. Plus, I'd be suprised if you could use that
version of Me TV for a week. The xine library leaks memory, about 300
MB a day.

This is an issue with a xine's default audio settings, not Me TV. Add
this line to ~/.me-tv/xine.config which should fix the issue, it

That was for PES recording output, not PES input from the device.
It's the "Function not implemented" that made me think that you have a
more general issue. I think that this is a message from the driver
saying that one of the function calls that Me TV is making (setting PID
filter) is failing.

Is this error reproducible or was it a one-off? I think that this has
happened to me before.
I'm no expert but it seems that this is not from the Me TV code,
Gtk::Widget::show () from /usr/lib/libgtkmm-2.4.so.1 implies that this
error occurred in GTKmm. I'm looking into it.

Yes that's true, you just need to pass --enable-libgstreamer-engine to
./configure. The configure Me TV to use it change "/apps/me-
tv/engine_type" to "libgstreamer" in GConf.
So yes, it is possible to package it for GStreamer also. You'll need to
pray to the Ubuntu gods to action this.

To disable the EPG, comment out line 535 in main_window.cc
Also, while you're at it and willing to try a few things, let's disable
the EPG thread by commenting out line 115 of stream_thread.cc.
Let's see if we can isolate it.

That's what the "Text encoding" option in the preferences dialog is for.
The Czech republic uses a different EPG encoding to everyone else.
After changing that value you will need to delete the me-tv database and
get the EPG events again.

Yep, that is an issue and I can see that I have not implemented that in
0.7.16. Fixing that now and it will be available in 0.8.0.

branch for 0.8.0. Now I just need to wait for someone to test it.

Yes, the bzr development branch [0]. If you know how to build source
then you can try it. There's a guy that's updating Ubuntu packages for
the development branch [1] but there's nothing in there at the moment.

This result is at least consistent with the retrace. For some reason it
can't get the window_scan_wizard from the glade file. Uninstall and
reinstall me-tv and see if that fixes it. Have you installed another
version of Me TV on your current system?

Yes, we know about this one. It's an issue with the default xine
settings. This has been fixed in the upstream source for Me TV 0.8.0.
