This does not fix my problem. I notice the same problems as mentioned
here and have a similar keyboard. But it seems to be a little bit older.
I attached my output of lsusb. As you can see my wireless keyboard has
another id (ID 045e:00e3) and is called "Microsoft Wireless Optical
Desktop 2.20".
Look at drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-quirks.c:
341 #define USB_VENDOR_ID_MICROSOFT 0x045e
342 #define USB_DEVICE_ID_SIDEWINDER_GV 0x003b
343 #define USB_DEVICE_ID_WIRELESS_OPTICAL_DESKTOP_3_0 0x009d
344 #define USB_DEVICE_ID_DESKTOP_RECV_1028 0x00f9
345 #define USB_DEVICE_ID_MS_NE4K
The version this was reported against is ancient. The package was
replaced by a completely new one years ago. Closing for the sake of
sanity.

Yes, NeuroDebian has a package. However, that package has just been
accepted into Debian experimental. An upload to Debian unstable is
pending a few more changes/improvements. Once this is done Ubuntu will
sync it automatically, I guess.

Just for the sake of completeness after this long time. That stuff is
neither in Debian nor Ubuntu. You can get it from
http://neuro.debian.net and http://neuro.debian.net/pkgs/fsl-

Let me mention that I'm preparing a refurbished packaging of Condor for
Debian. I have updated the package to the latest stable release (7.6.0)
yesterday. More information is available here:

I expect the initial upload to Debian to happen some time in May
can anybody please explain why this fix isn't released for a LTS-version
