I updated 8.04 LTS desktop and I get the same. I updated using wupi in
WinXP SP2. I'm running on a Dell Vostro 400 Intel(R)Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz- 4DIMMs.

Me too. Very minor differences with new install on new Dell Vostro.
October 2007?! Looks like a "deal breaker" for 8.04.
