Same problem in the Trusty beta that ships with MM 1.*
The content from the USB-Modem (for the win and mac guys to install
there software) is now displayed correctly but another error appears.
I have attached a screenshot with the new error.

As the original author of logapp I have some comments to this bug
report:
The described bug has been introduced with logapp-0.9 (SVN r210) and
should be fixed since logapp-0.14. So for the currently supported Ubuntu
versions only Karmic with logapp-0.12 and additionally Debian Lenny with
logapp-0.

After a while I tried this USB-Modem again.
In Ubuntu 14.04.3 (livecd - laptop):
Sometimes the modem was switched correctly, sometimes not (a kernel backtrace
occurs at syslog).
Also if the system switched the device correctly to 1506, it doesn't appear at
the Network-Manager.
I use Fedora 21 on

I use minicom with an USB Adapter to communicate with a cisco switch.
Everything went fine but when I close the program with ctrl+a, z and j, the
lock at /dev/ttyUSB0 wasn't removed. :/
If I remove the file /var/lock/LCK..ttyUSB0, the device is unlocked.

Hey Martin Linden, what do you get if you type lsusb in the terminal?
If the blue light is flashing pls try to type "sudo dhclient wwan0" and wait
for the commandline, then try to open a website.
I guess this script is written for ArchLinux and dhcpcd.
If this does the job, pls change the line 6

click on the folder and click "Open" nothing happens.

now a have try'd booth kernels, 3.9RC6 & 3.9RC8 on my Netbook and on my
Workstation, but i booth cases there was more problems.. and the old
problem is not fixed -> same issue! :/
