Seems I was wrong...
having two ways for activating wlan:
1. soft-on/off via fn+F5 (wlan, wlan+blue, blue, none)
2. hardware switch (wlan+blue on/off)
while switching on and off often (too fast) via "soft"-off/on wlan
doesn't come up again. Only a HW-Reset via hw-switch brings back
functionality.
works for me.
Had same Problem (Thinkpad T61 with intel 4965) after one of the latest updates
in kubuntu 8.10, wlan works withoud encryption + with wpa2/psk with German
T-com Speedport W700V router. I installed from scratch with the given Kubuntu
Intrepid disk for 64bit.
KNetworkManager didn't
