The bug appears to be caused by the driver because if you use the NDIS
wrapper the windows driver will work.
Ill be testing with Jaunty as soon as it hits beta. I don't want to
deploy the apha to a production machine and I don't have a test model in
the office at this time.

The 'workaround' is very clunky and requires three button clicks and two
separate text entries to log in...In terms of UID that is an epic fail.
There needs to be a different login UI created (much like the classic
ones) for use in the corporate world.
The fact that this was not even considered is
the problem with posting logs is your handing out alot of information in
those logs. I would be surprised if anyone wants to post those logs.

For an LTS version (aimed more at corporate environments) this bug issue
is ridiculous, especially if the machine is centrally authenticated
through AD or NDS. It would result in a list of EVERY valid login for
the company being displayed.
Personally I develop SOE's that include a Ubuntu Linux env

Worth noting that libpam-mount does not have a problem. Its SU that has
the issue and the way it calls the umount as a user but mounts as root.

I had this one too, clean install using 2 ext4 partitions and a Swap with
manual partitioning.
The partitions were preformatted and Ubuntu just had to install into them.
Single disk with / partition and encrypted /home partition. I think this should
be a higher priority.

Kinda a major pain, makes creating documents in Open Office a waste of
time. I create documents and then turn them into PDF so they can be read
under any OS without worrying about small formatting difference that can
make things look very poor.
With this bug I cant really use Open Office anymore.

While the login has had several improvements it also has a critical
regression issue. You cannot have the login configured (as far as I can
tell) to only give the old username and password option without

Can be disabled from gconf-tool2 via setting /apps/gdm/simple-
greeter/disable_user_list to true.
This should be an option in the control panel for Login.
This method also provides a poor user experience in comparison to
previous versions of Ubuntu.
