I've been hammering suspend and hibernate all day with the 2.6.32-19
patch and haven't seen any more of this problem. Can't say for sure as I
don't have a reliable STR, but it looks like the patch fixes the problem
without introducing any new bugs :)

I see the proposed fix hasn't yet made it in, but for whatever reason
the issue hasn't appeared for me since the upgrade to stock Lucid kernel
2.6.32-21.

Same for me. Problem seems fixed on my desktop PC but still happens
intermittently on my netbook.

I have this problem, despite starting with a clean install.
However, I'm very rarely getting it since changing my disk setup: I
moved /home off my netbook's main (very slow) SSD onto a separate SD
card. I suspect that this has reduced demand on disk I/O, moving my
netbook mostly beyond the theshol
Martin, the packages from your PPA seem to have fixed the problm on my
netbook -- no problems with a several suspends. Closing lid, suspend
from menu, or sleep key all seem to be OK.

The fix in -proposed repo makes the situation much better for me. Both
my desktop and netbook, which were hitting the bug every suspend, now
show it only occasionally -- as in, it may happen once every few days.
I presume that's from a different cause so I'll try to get logs for bug
#1252121 next

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Gnote
2. Look for Gnote in the Dash
The cause is a line in /usr/share/applications/gnote.desktop:
Which prevents Gnote from appearing in Unity.
The attached patch corrects this by adding
