After a couple of days of normal use (including suspend/resume), I
caught it in gdb. Again, the actual corruption may be happening
elsewhere, but at least we can see exactly where the server is dying.

I had upgraded many times without rebooting
I can reproduce a similar crash by opening the right-click menu on an
image and browsing through the View and Image menus. It's not 100%, but
trying this many times eventually triggers a crash.
Bug 330846 and bug 334076 are possible duplicates, particularly if this
is a GTK issue.

On the way back from Berlin on Friday, I resumed my laptop on the

I have been experiencing X server crashes during suspend/resume testing,
but no apport report was being left behind. By stracing the X server, I
was able to see that this was due to glibc detecting heap corruption and
aborting the process.

I tried strace -s1024 but it seems it still doesn't expand the arguments
to writev(). I'm not sure how to get more detail from this but I can
reproduce it fairly easily. Even without suspending and resuming, it
can happen when connecting a USB device (remote control).
