In Xubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) I get black screen on password prompt. With GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1920x1080 I see password prompt but I can't enter anything and I see some logs appearing over graphical prompt. If I set GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet" I see text prompt and I can enter password.
