On another Hardy system of mine that does not have the libtool issue,
the package failed to configure until I changed the
PULSEAUDIO_SYSTEM_START setting to 0 in /etc/default/pulseaudio. I
don't know if this is a setting I manually changed or if it was once
defaulted to 1.

The link: /var/lib/python-support/python2.4/sepolgen/__init__.py points
to the wrong folder (sepolgen instead of python-sepolgen).
Here's a workaround until the package is corrected:

both timed and lid events), but the system still goes into suspend and

I walked away and the computer was suspended. It didn't wake up when I
pressed the power button, which should have woken it up. The power
light on the system changed from yellow to blue but the monitor didn't
recognize it. The monitor light stayed in its sleep state.
