I confirm this issue on both XUbuntu 10.04 beta 32-bit and 64-bit with
the live CD on two laptops - Acer Aspire 5920 and Acer Aspire One d250
(32-bit only).
I boot from xubuntu live cd. Get xfce and the "gtk-jockey crashed"
message (already fixed). Then I plug in my flash stick - nothing
happens,
Plugin appears on the panel (USA flag i mean :)). All other shortcuts work fine
(alt-F2 gets the launcher window just like it always did), and even my custom
shortcut ctrl+space always launches xfce4-console.
I attached the file.

I use Xubuntu 10.04 RTM on Aspire One AOD250 and get the same message. Here is
what I think of this bug.
According to the latest Ubuntu kernel source, "Unable to detect available WMID

1293. Here is the complete code:
Erik, in my case automount didn't work only if I autologin-ed. If I used
a normal login instead, then everything was ok. Your bug seems to have a
different flavor.

Well, here is a quick fix. Add
blacklist acer-wmi
to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf.
No error messages occur after that. Adding AOD250 to the driver source as I
suggested earlier is a more correct way though.
By the way, lsmod|grep acer-wmi gives nothing after the boot is
