to work consistently. As far as i can tell it works fine on the fresh

Epiphany. Those are the only browsers I have tested. Whenever I open a

I cant see the panel applets in a remix session, but I can click on
where they usually are, and the applet menu comes down or the volume
adjustment drops down just fine too. I noticed that the clock applet is
the only one that doesnt show up for some reason and may or may not be a
part of the issue
Just had a related issue with pidgin messengers meus being drawn below
the window. I could only see the edge peeking around the side. I think
that may be what the clock applet is doing, as well as the panel itself.

Sounds like you might have just had a bad update experience. Ipersonally
never upgrade the releases, I always do a clean install after doing a
system backup using Clonezilla. Keeping /home on a seperate partition is
also nice because you can do clean installs and still keep all
application settings

Sometimes these things happen to me on occasion where a package wont
install and I'm not sure why, so I learned to run aptitude and usually
it knows exactly what is wrong and has suggestions on how to fix it,
especially in cases like this where you have an odd package conflict or
whatnot.
Anyways
I've just tried to replicate this on Lucid and there is a problem for
sure. Tried opening synaptic, and sources, tried adding the disk and it
fails always for me. However a manual run of "sudo apt-cdrom add" adds
the same disc without issue and it shows up afterwards in Software
Sources window.
If
I don't personally use XFCE but the /etc/apt/sources.list still holds
the sources. You can manually run ALT+F2, "gksudo gedit" open the file,
find the duplicate and erase it, save it and refresh package lists. That
should fix you up.

prefer to stick with totem as your video player then maybe you could
install and test out totem-xine? Totem-xine supports DVD menus and
probably other things that standard totem does when using gstreamer. If

I have tested printing in openoffice writer, eye of gnome, and gimp and
seems like no matter what program i print from, most of the time, but
not always, the first page will print partially and then all of a sudden
put black and white lines down the

I also have a similar bug with my Brother MFC-7840W that I have already
reported. Problem with print corruption and spitting out lots of blank
pages. May or may not help here to see my bug as it may be cross Brother
problem. I used "ubuntu-bug" to report so there is some uploaded files
to help. Bug

I just did a single page test print in Firefox on 9.04 installation that
I'm currently running and had the page print out partially and then had
a small line of noise and then part of the page was repeated followed by
black and white vertical lines accross the width of the page. I'm going

as i am new to linux i hope im not wasting your time submitting this
error.this happens on boot up of system every time so is it a bug i
don't know.any helpful hints would be great.having come from using
