I tested Checkbox in Ubuntu 14.04 (galician language) but it displays
english version though is full translated into galician.

Hi Chris,
I've just run a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 then I've enabled Proposed
repository and I installed
language-selector-{common,gnome} 0.165.2 from xenial-proposed and I was able
successfully install Galician Language again. :)
So I don't know where and how tag can be changed to verifi

1. Run ccsm (from package compizconfig-settings-manager)
2. In OpenGL > Sync To VBlank = OFF
worked for me in Ubuntu 12.04
