Proposed 2.6.24-18-generic works fine here (8.0.4_64).
I hope the update process can be improved in the future to avoid the
extra step for the VirtualBox module. It's no biggie, but the first time
I've ran into the issue, it was quite scary that a recommended update
broke an important application.
I can confirm this issue. Fix would be welcome in order to be able to
workaround the dependency issue without resorting to binaries

Thanks for your quick action. The RFE is not merely here to provide a
workaround for the mentioned bug, but rather to make window list
function the way I would prefer. I don't want to let window list
minimize a window - ever. A new preference option would therefore much
appreciated.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, normal desktop effects are enabled, but
even when I disable desktop effects, the behavior regarding window list
does NOT change. At least in the same session. I will apply some testing

The weird thing is that switching through the unity launcher works just

Please, please fix this annoying behavior! If it can't be enabled as the

hide it in the gconf database if the casual user should not be able to
touch it.
But the current behavior is definitely out-of-place. The motivation

Seriously? Depending on the usage pattern, the Workspace switcher icon
is simply useless. I always use the keyboard to switch between my
workspaces. And I never use the launcher to start applications or search
for documents, whatever. I therefore removed all default entries from
the launcher. Well,
Please allow the removal of the workspace switcher icon.

Just tried Natty in a VirtualBox vm. The issue happens for me too. The
