After installing the latest Karmic image from alternate (20091012) on a
Dell Studio XPS (Jolie MKL), the microphone does not seem to record
sound. I went to the sound properties, into the input device tab, made
sure that the input volume was not muted and that the input volume

After changing the Mic settings in alsamixer, the microphone now works.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be possible to change those settings
in the sound preferences, but that's another issue.

I received the Aspire One from someone else, and it hasn't been able to
install since I received it. However, UNR was installed on the netbook
originally, so I suspect it worked at some point.

System Testing (checkbox) has several not translatable strin
Confirmed, the backports modules proposed by Jerone works fine without

I do not have an extra drive because the one in the Aspire One uses an
old formfactor with a zif socket on the side, whereas most SSD cards
nowadays have connectors directly on the card. So, I have ordered a new
card at the beginning of the week which should arrive shortly.

CheckboxCommand: resolution_test
Which corresponds to:
/usr/share/checkbox/scripts/resolution_test
This is a simple script which attempts to parse the output of xrandr -q.
However, since the bug report contains no Checkbox
What crashes exactly? Could you please describe the problem a bit more?
