During update process I was aksed to update a file (overwrite data) or keep old
data. I selected overwrite file with data form 14.04 lts package. Installation
process was sucessful.
But now I receive on every sytem start seral faliures. Thrusy Thar creates on

Putting sudo in front of a command for redirecting output to a file
where you do not have write permission, does not help.

I see some wrong behavior concerning mime/Nautilus in Ubuntu 14.10.
I created some packages in /usr/share/mime/packages/ and run 'update-
mime-database /usr/share/mime' and 'update-desktop-database
/usr/share/applications' afterwards. In Ubuntu 12.04 .. 14.04 everything
works
Probably caused by the fact that for bug #1398975 new versions of the
libc6 packages have been provided, but currently the amd64 one failed to
build.

I first deleted all filters, only left Spam and virus filters. Before I
had a filter sorting some emails by sender into a subfolder of the SENT
folder. Lets call the subfolder 123.
After manually moving emails from the SENT folder to the subfolder 123
they reappear soon in the original SENT folder
Same problem here. It occured, after i run a small self-compiled app.
The app crashed after startup and I was not able to kill the app. After
the restart, I got the error message.

I connected my smartphone (Sony Neo V) to the Notebook to use USB tethering. I
don't know what I did, maybe I disconnected the smartphone without deactivating
thethering. But this gave me the issue.

tethering, which gaves me the error.

As far as I know the current situation is as follows:
There is a working version of the dedicated proprietary nvidia-96 driver
for Ubuntu 10.10 - not delivered with the installation or upgrade CD's,
but available from the standard repositories for normal package
installation.
