issue with symbolicy links and KIO slaves. And since digikam uses KIO
slaves, it is probably the bug in KDE beta packages that causes problem
for you. I think we will need to wait for now KDE 4.4 snapshot (rc1),

OK, I have done test builds with exiv2 0.19 of all rdepends packages in my PPA.
Everything builds fine (just rebuild, no source changes), only pyexiv2 and
koffice2 have problem to build with newer exiv2.
I have already mailed pyexiv2 author, if he can help with transition (as he did
with exiv2
koffice2 FTBFS anyhow (seems due to libwv2-dev build-depend), so the
build failure is not exiv2 0.19 specific. Will need to resolve FTBFS to
get it built for Lucid.

I got confirmation from pyexiv2 developer that he might even release 2.0
release in time for Lucid, but he will also provide patch for 0.1.3
release just in case if we cannot get 2.0 in for Lucid.

I have tried 0.2.6~boot1, and it seems it has improved the Recovery
console messages (not apearing anymore), and it also did succeed to
setup dm-crypt device, but then it hangs before it mount my /home. It
may be related to the fact that I have /home on LVM which is on dm-crypt

After recent kernel upgrade to 2.6.38-3.30, I can no longer boot my system. I
have LVM + dm-crypt setup, therefore I need to enter my dm-crypt password
during boot. Instead of plymouth, I get just black screen.

Yes, it looked like that grub was trying to write text over garbled
screen, so nothing was readable (while using 2.6.38-3).
Switching back to 2.6.38-2 kernel (removing 2.6.38-3 + grub-install to
use older kernel) returned things back to normal - pymouth displayed
bacground image (Kubuntu) + I got
Additional note: on garbled screen, if I wanted to select (blindly)
older kernel (I just did two Key-Down presses) and select, it did not
get me to proper input prompt, so I was not able to workaround it that
way.
