Once VMWare is fully loaded and you don't have to Ctrl-Alt anymore (can
minimize instead) the crashes disappear.

Actually, it seems I can reproduce the error when Ctrl-Alt'ing instead
of minimizing any time, even after it's loaded. When just minimizing
from fullscreen things seem to be okay, but once you ctrl-alt or
something equivalent, maximize and then check back, it almost always
seems to crash.

Yep, same issue. One's a 19" monitor, the other is a 21". I've had this
issue since at least intrepid, but karmic still has it as well. Using

me to at least do an upgrade, but I'm worried that the full install of
9.10 didn't fully complete. It seems to have partially worked though.
Anyone have suggestions for ensuring that my upgrade to 9.10 isn't
broken?

Binary package hint: debian-installer
I encountered an issue when installing 10.10 where you can't get past
the screen where you enter the computer name/password. The "next" button
