I could not reproduce this problem on Debian (sa
e it in a stock Ubuntu environment, or is it a
Google-specific one?
Note that the Timeout module is pure ruby, so it might be easy to reduce
your test case a bit more.
Thanks a lot for investigating this issue!

executed (yield
sec), and if it finishes before the timeout, the thread is killed
(y.kill if y and y.alive?), so the exception is never raised.
So, on the paper, it looks correct. However, I'm not sure of the
atomicity guarantees provided by the interpreter here. Might be a
problem.

Could you write a test case ? I'm still not sure I understand what you
are seeing.

Thanks ! I can't reproduce the problem in a clean karmic chroot.
Strange.
Could you post the full content of your /etc/apt/sources.list ?
And also the output of apt-cache show rdoc1.8 ?
You have tried running apt-get update before apt-get install, of course
?

Thank you for this great off-topic and useless contribution.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: reportbug
When reporting bug to the Debian BTS, it is a bad idea to report bugs
against a version of the package that is not in Debian. That causes
version-tracking to fail, and unhappy maintainers.
I suggest adding a message in the default template sayi
is not supported in lucid ; dropping from Architectures => allows to sync
the package.
Changelog entries since current lucid version 1.3.2-3ubuntu1:
openmpi (1.3.3-3.1) unstable; urgency=low
* Non-maintainer upload with the maintainer's permission.
* Improve alternatives upgrade.
alternatives score to 40 (same as OpenMPI).
* Fix FTBFS on s390 by using -fPIC instead of -fpic. Closes: #555943.
* Remove .py binary suffix in /usr/share/mpich2/*.py.
* Run the test suite, but ignore failures for now.
