and this does not complete the intstalltion complaining for UBUNTU-DESTKOP
I mean, I can't believe that a distro depends upon facebook. At least I do not
hope so.

drivers either with this Ubuntu-provided packages on UBUNTU 14.04.3 or with

Hi all. I too had the problem, much the same way as I had with 14.04 LTS some
months ago.
This time I followed this post and managed to uninstall fglrx-* packages and
get my system to boot again:

I followed the steps in message #132 and IT WORKS on my system.
The system booted correctly into UNity and I have successfully opened AMD
Catalyst Control Center.
My question is: shall I delete the /etc/apt/preferences.d/proposed-updates file
or is it better to leave i
I just tested the driver playing PORTALS 2 with STEAM on this linux box and it
played perfectly.
I also tried going to the tty with CTRL+F1 and then back to the X session with
CTRL+F7 - all smooth and OK.
