I've just moved to Ubuntu 8.04.2 (kernel 2.6.24-23.48-generic) but the
bug is the same.
>From dmesg:-

The output from the command modinfo on my installation suggests there is
a problem with insufficient parameters being supplied to the kernel.
Compare data from a current 8.04.1 Hardy kernel:-
filename:
/lib/modules/2.6.24-22-generic/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver/isa/snd-azt2320.ko
license:
Rob Harrigan from geekqualizer.blogspot.com has sent me the contents of
/var/lib/alsa/asound.state from his machine which has a working
installation of snd-azt2320.
It turns out to be identical to /var/lib/alsa/asound.state on my non-
working installation of snd-azt2320 on kernel 2.6.24-23-generic
