I have the same problem with my laptop using both Ubuntu/Kubuntu
i386/AMD64 herd-5 live CDs, the volume from the speakers is too low and
the sound from the headphones output is somewhat louder but as a lot of
static.
Should i open a new bug or is this the same issue?
My laptop has a Intel 945PM Ex

I have installed nVidia drivers 97.46 from the nVidia website and
everything works fine in that session (3D accelaration, nvidia-settings)
