linux-crashdump is a meta-package that will install :
- kexec-tools
- makedumpfile
- crash
- libdw1
- linux-crashdump
While this is not a single package, it does fulfill one single
requirement which is to allow Ubuntu Server to generate diagnostic data

I'm sorry, I thought I had done so. Here is the debdiff against the
ubuntu version. Let me know if this is sufficient.

FYI,
After further investigation, the difference comes from LP: #600051 as
noted in Maverick's kexec-tool changelog :

The reason why it fails on Lucid is that those line are placed BEFORE
the $rootmnt gets mounted as opposed to AFTER the mount for the other

versions.
The end result is that all distro will share the same kdump.initra

Here is one interesting thing I have just identified : the inaccessible
virtual consoles ( Fn ) problem only happens with dual-head enabled
using the Twinview option of the Nvidia settings.
When only using the laptop screen, virtual consoles are accessible and
suspend works correctly as well.

Public bug reported:
This seems to be a follow-up to LP: 942846.
