I would like to add that triggering a kernel dump in seconds following
the installation of the package remains a corner case in a test context
and not the usual behavior.
I have seen that too in my test scripts and syncing right after the

Looking at the history for this case, the SRU got rejected by pitti
(Comment #29) because of a v-failed on the fix for LP: #1568485 which is
also included in this SRU.
Since then, LP: #1568485 has been verified and is now fix-released.

Hello,
I have just uploaded a fixed makedumpfile for SRU to xenial.

This fix is required to make the crash tool usable. It does also improve
makedumpfile filtering of pages.

Here is a recap of my work and current status :
#1) when a system has a separated /var, the unit will hang since it is looking
for /var/run to be present and it has been unmounted.
#2) when using Unattended-Upgrade::InstallOnShutdown "true"; the upgrade never
completes as the query to the online
I can confirm that this version fixes the following issue :
