Just noting that downgrading the xorg package to hardy (1:7.3+10ubuntu10) has resulted in zero occurrences of the bug in the last 24 hours. Previously, I was restarting X at least 3-4 times a day. In downgrading, I made no changes to the nvidia drivers being used - only the xorg package changed.
