I have the kernel 2.6.24-17 and l still have the same issue. I'm only
getting 1mb from my wireless. This problem have been going on for a
long time, is not one going to fix it? I've read dozens of posts that
go back for months. Please fix this guys. Thanks.

Same issue here. It was working before I updated my kernel to
2.6.24-19-generic and now I'm seeing the same problem. Only I am using
WPA2 Enterprise. Everything seems to work on the open network at home,
but at work I need WPA2 to get on the network.
