I have this same problem, but with ubuntu-desktop and mythbuntu. To clarify, is the workaround then to remove one of those (in my case ubuntu-desktop since that's my secondary), install the 10.04 upgrade, then reinstall ubuntu-desktop? -- system upgrade 9.10 --> 10.04 could not calculate upgrade
