Sorry, I'm a little bit confused, because Synaptic doesn't show libftdi
available, but apt-cache indicates that this package is available (and I can
install it)

- Installed Gnome Alsa Mixer
- Used alsamixer to unmute 'DC MODE ENABLE' and turned up 'DC INPUT BIAS'
