I wanted to convert the directory name in $HOME from Japanese into
English.
$ LANG=C xdg-user-dirs-update --force
An English directory was made.
But a Japanese direct

1. click "New partition" Button.
2. open "Create partition" dialog box.
3. select "Use as" (filesystem) and "Mount point". (and input size)
4. click "OK" Button.
5. "Type" (filesystem) and "Mount point" is value
I tested the Kubuntu 9.04 Alpha 3 (desktop CD x86).

I tested the Kubuntu 9.04 Alpha 3 (desktop CD x86).
I tried clean install.
Install setting (manual partition)
/dev/sda5 is /boot as EXT4.
/dev/sda6 is / as EXT4.
/dev/sda7 is swap.
The grub was able to boot the kernel from /boot (EXT4).

I think, this is not a duplicate.
I tested Kubuntu 9.04 alpha 3 with virt-manager 0.6.0-6ubuntu1.
It works. (Windows XP install OK)
As CedX said, It might be virt-manager problem.
