I just resolved this issue. The whole problem was caused by bios setting. There is a "Protect Audio Video Path Mode" option under chipset configuration. It was set at "Paranoid" and that was the cause of the problem. When that bios setting is set to "Disabled" or "Lite" the problem does not appear.
