Yes, indeed Fedora actually worked for me when I tried it 2 years ago. But
then again it's no Ubuntu ;-)

We may be able to change this defect to fixed. The latest version of
VirtualBox 1.6.2 contains a feature to enable PAE. If you go to the
settings for a machine you will find a checkbox called: POE/NX, check
it and you should be able to boot.

I no longer have the PC that was of issue so I am no longer able to test
this. Sorry.

This is on a motherboard with ATI 9100 IGP Chipset. I've also tried
loading AGP modules /etc/modules:

Followup:
Presently there is no out of the box support for BIOS enabled software
RAID such as the many that come with NVidia, Intel or Highpoint
Chipsets. This can be a turn-off for power users wishing to dual-boot
WindowsXP and Ubuntu.
Dual booting is easily performed, and the team has done an
Do you think I would have any better luck with Edgy? Do we know if DMRaid
is included or if there is better compatibility with Edgy?
I'm willing to help test/confirm any hacks or packages for this as I think
it's important to get working with Ubuntu.
Thanks,
Scott

Put me down as a tester for this. I already have the rig to test it on.
Also I think the LiveCD should support DMRaid more seemlessly like
Fedora does.

FYI: I tried

I've confirmed that DMRaid loaded properly and I started it with

The bug is not in fglrx it is in the driver for agpgart that which is built
in. This is an open source driver to my knowledge. Note: the problem is
not with fglrx, it's with a motherboard that has an ATI chipset which is
presently not supported by our agpgart.

This sounds like a good idea. Could we get this on the alternate CD in time
for Feisty?

Is this on the standard CD or do I need the Alternate CD?
Since this is a udeb it should be loaded at bootup? Or are there some
options I need to pass it. Just trying to get my ducks in order before I
install.
Thanks,
Scott
