I got suspend working through the following steps.
First, the graphics card (01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia
Corporation NV34M [GeForce FX Go5200 64M] (rev a1)):
1. Add the

AFAIK, the following would survive upgrades:

To make the card also work after suspend, I added

Please observe that this bug causes all lines in /etc/mailcap after the
broken line to be skipped. Therefore it also prevents other mime type
files from being opened by the intended application.

This still seems to be broken on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS x86_64. This worked
about a year ago, but stopped working with some kernel upgrade, probably
somewhere near 2.6.32-25. The device does not show up in Network
Manager, and "sudo modprobe qcserial" gives the error:
FATAL: Error inserting qcserial

My Thinkpad T60 with an ATI Radeon Mobility X1400 running Ubuntu 10.04
had the same problem: The screen was stuck with vertical lines, and a
double VT switch (Ctrl-Alt-F1, Ctrl-Alt-F7) was needed to get the screen
back.
The fix in #7 helped for me. Thank you!

I am having a similar problem. Similar setup as above, hardware Lenovo
ThinkPad X201 which worked fine before. It would be great to get it

It looks like adding the line
/usr/bin/dvipdfmx Ux,
into /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/evince and doing
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor reload
fixed the problem for me. I don't know almost anything about AppArmor, and
don't know if this breaks more than it fixes. :-)

Contrary to the original bug report, it looks like in fact
/etc/mailcap.order also affects entries originating from
/usr/share/applications, as long as the first field matches the name of
the .desktop file (minus the .desktop extension).
So, if you add the line
org.gnome.Evince:application/pdf
Installing the java-wrappers package seems to have fixed this for me.
Perhaps java-wrappers (version 0.3) should be added as a dependency for the
dicomscope package.
I am running Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS., java-wrappers 0.3, dicomscope 3.6.0-23.
