The current splash should not have these problems. I have taken a 24bit
png file exported from inkscape, opened it in gimp and semi-flattened
the transparency to the bg color defined for the splash/wallpaper.
So, there should be no more black pixels around the edges or funky
aliasing problems. How

Using a fixed pixel size would be a mistake, as on very large
resolutions it would be tiny.

Actually, I think that the wrong icon is being used in the menu. The
correct version to be used in menus is the one found in the context menu
(right click on the panel to see it)

It seems to me that this is a problem with radio buttons being used in
the wrong place and/or the wrong way.
Checkboxes should be used for lists in which several items can be
selected/active. Radio buttons, on the other hand, should toggle the

designing the theme, not intentional. It would be much better to use

I can confirm this.
When trying to save a TIFF image, gThumb gives an error saying: "Image
type not supported: image/tiff".
This problem also exists in Eye of Gnome and you get a more descriptive
error message saying: "This build of gdk-pixbuf does not support saving
the image format: tiff".

I think the idea can work if we add one feature: the highlighted state
of the indicator should use a different icon (something closer to the
light version because it is shown on a lighter background).

Really, this solution only makes sense. The current outline of the
icons, which makes them appear sharper on a dark background has been
accepted as-is but ideally we would have a different icon to reflect the
change in background due to the highlighted state.

This does not seem to affect the Ambiance theme, only Radiance. It seems
that when changing back, it picks up the muted icon from the ubuntu-
mono-dark set instead of ubuntu-mono-light as it should.

the window list seperator and then moving it back makes the white line
