We need to work with the gstreamer guys to get rtpmanager and liveadder
moved to -good. Upstream telepathy developers think at least rtpmanager

My worry with making the plugin disable itself is applications that
might be depending on that plugin being enabled to poll for new mail.

I have reproduced the problem with the cover art plugin enabled, it
seems to randomly fail. Skipping through songs, it displayed cover art
7 out of 10 tries, some of the successes displayed the default icon for
a moment then changed to the album art. So perhaps rhythmbox does some
caching, writin
OK, I was wrong... the plugin is enabled by default. After recursively
unsetting all the rhythmbox gconf keys I never get cover art in the
notification, even though I do see the art in the UI.

Marking this as invalid now, I was able to reproduce it but it seems to
be fixed now. I haven't nailed down exactly what fixed. On a fresh
install from a 20090310.1 CD it fails but after a dist-upgrade it works
again.

I have tested this script a number of times, including in a pristine VM
which was installed from an iso from before notify-osd was included. I
did a dist-upgrade then ran the script. The applet was added just to
the left of the notification area.
I also tested the scenario without a notification
I have had a couple random placements of the applet when running this
script. Here is a gconf dump from when it was added to the left of the
menu.

I just tried to reproduce this with jaunty on my i386 box with a Intel
G965 graphics card, didn't crash. I also tested on my jaunty amd64
laptop with Intell 4500 graphics, didn't crash.
Is anyone able to reproduce this with jaunty?
