The system resognizes the device. As ycan be seen from the attached lspci log. iwconfig shows the settings. I can change them using iwconfig commands. AR5212 shows no scan results to "iwlist ath0 scanning" RA8180L shows many networks, but cannot connect. Network-manager applet shows the device
