In my case I have a Compaq Presario V5306US (Turion 64 processor) and
problems persists. The Bios seems to be incompatible. Whats the idea on

In tried with the proposed repo and even after the update, the behaviour
is the same.
The processor cannot reduce the load for less than 40%. Checked with top
in terminal.
it show the compiz usage (pulses) all the time.

I also confirm the problem with kernel. I also installed the v3.3.4 from
mainline to test and the problem was solved. The load average returned
to "lucid" conditions like 0.01, 0.07, 0.06.
However I uninstalled it because it is not prepared for restricted
drivers like my wireless broadcom.
