I found that the problem is related to (use a java script to configure)
a proxy server or not.
At Firefox I have a Java detecting proxy sequence such

If I use this sequence, Java Applets doesn't work. If I manually
configure Firefox for not using the sequence, a
[IcedTea Web Control Panel] [Network] [Automatic proxy configuration
script] solved my problem.
So, I think Firefox has same (proxy) problem in Linux and Windows...

Speed seems to be erratic/unstable. With the network-manager applet I
see speeds from 5 Mbit/s to 54 Mbit/s. The commands
iwlist wlan0 rate
iwlist wlan0 bitrate
doesn't provide information about.
I read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/bcm43xx in
order to find a better solution

uncomment the line #HandleLidSwitch and make sure value equal suspend
is not necessary.
I'm guessing that commented parameters at /etc/systemd/logind.conf are
the defaults.
So, the line:
#HandleLidSwitch=suspend
is equivalent to:
HandleLidSwitch=suspend
In fact,
The use of this driver is discouraged if your hw is new enough (ca.
2007 and newer). You can try uninstalling this driver and let the
server use it's builtin modesetting driver instead.

/usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache has a line:
application/x-java-archive=file-roller.desktop;
and should be:
application/x-java-archive=openjdk-7-java.desktop;file-roller.desktop;
In fact, in a 12.04 LTS system with openjdk-6-java.desktop the line is:
application/x-java-archive=openjdk-6-
Changes at /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache for double-click
didn't work. I had to fix ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list
[Added Associations]
application/x-java-archive=openjdk-7-java.desktop;
[Default Applications]
application/x-java-archive=openjdk-7-java.desktop
