I am having this problem too (or a extremely similar one) and it is a
huge problem. Ubuntu one used to work on my system but it just started
crashing one day. It seems to be working fine if I right click or leave
it in an error state, but if I left click to Connect it immediatly
crashes and opens

Having this as well, however in previous versions I could not even
enable 5.1 at all. So I guess I can live without being able to fade,
though my front speakers are so much louder.
As long as all the faders are in the middle nothing goes wrong.

Ammending this: It is not just on open, It is after I then click on
the icon (Which is in error state).
Also, my computer froze and I had to restart it before this problem
started.

This was less of a problem with me personally (I am not having the error
any more) and more a comment on the system as a whole. Using the
.u1conflict system does not work because it can cause the end user large
problems.

I just re-installed Ubuntu one and the problem is still there. Whenever
I open Ubuntu one and click on the status tray Icon it opens an apport
window. It will not function at all.

I have a 5.1 surround setup, and when I set it up to run 5.1 surround,
the Front and Rear left work, as well as the center speaker. However,
