Each portion of the license contains a release to redistribute either
under the GPL or with the copyright notice included in the
documentation, and each allows modification as desired, so we should be
in the clear to package the software as long as each of the developers
are mentioned in the docs.
i havent use the laptop with that card, although i may update to that
card so i will check soon.

do you ever get any sound? (from the login prompt?)i have an issue
where any media player will play if i start them right after i log in,
but once playback stops, they can no longer play audio, and if i wait
too long after starting the system audio won't work at all.

GDM calls this a non issue, and says that it's up to the distributions
to include a specially crafted .desktop file in /usr/share/Xsessions
that runs the system xsession script.

i had the same issue as the previous two posters, if i did sudo dpkg-
reconfigure udev, it only updated the -9-rt kernel, and not the
-14-generic kernel, i fixed it by running:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure udev
sudo update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.31-14-generic
this fixed the problem, so i beleve that udev
