It sounds like voodoo but Timothy's work around did indeed fix the problem for
me, probably only temporarily though.

As far as I can tell, this is the same issue that's affecting me in my
fully up to date Karmic Netbook-Remix. When hovering over the icon of
an application, I get a +(plus) sign, but nothing switches. If I drag
a file to the home menu (Ubuntu icon) however, it's added to the

I'm glad to hear that a patch has been prepared, thank you for taking
the time to fix this. It's been a nuisance for as long as I can
remember. In fact, I've given up locking the panel icons because it's
quicker to move them back where I left them if I don't have to unlock
them each time. Mostl
I agree. I spent a few minutes doing this repeatedly because I
misunderstood the behavior. I can't now find the old turn on NTP
servers option which I presumed to find (as it used to be) in the set
time dialog.

The same crash occurs (for me repeatedly at 24%) if you install direct

I should mention, if you start the installation without trying first, I

I have noticed that when you drag and drop a text file onto Gedit in
Unity Launcher it opens in a separate Gedit window, however if I right
click in Nautilus and choose 'open with Gedit' it opens in my existing
instance of Gedit but in a new tab. The difference in behaviour is
unexpected.
