Under Xubuntu, Qt5-style-plugins does the theming of Qt5 apps okay, but
does not switch the file chooser dialog to the GTK one and does not
switch the button order from the KDE/Qt order of "OK,Cancel" to
"Cancel,OK"
The button order issue is especially annoying for muscle mem
I should correct myself. QBitTorrent (Qt5) works as well. It is LyX
(Qt5) that does not use the GTK file chooser or use GTK button order.

Problem is still active as of 16.10. Otherwise, a very happy camper.
There are niggling Ubuntu-isms like that Unity Music Menu and Messaging
Menu, but they are easily replaced/disabled/uninstalled. Still unable to
figure how to edit configuration files to fix Synaptic. Yet other root
apps activate

Thank you for the quick response. I didn't even think bout how root
privileges entered into it. I remember from trying out kde in transition
(4->5) that apps run as root from get-go had messed up display settings
(icons were mix-and-match, etc).
