Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: usplash
During a bootchart analysis, I noticed that the usplash init script
sleeps for 1 whole second waiting for usplash to quit in the function
usplash_quit(), line 69. I reduced this to 0.1 seconds, which slightly
improves my total boot time.

Hi,
I have this bug on my machine (ATI Technologies Inc RV516 [Radeon
X1300/X1550 Series]) as well. The attached python script (using mayavi2)
reproducibly freezes X on a "standard" Kubuntu 9.04 (upgraded to from

Maybe someone else can try my test-script and report his/her findings to
help track down this issue.

Menu entries for Scribus to e.g. "LC_ALL=C scribus-ng %f". This way, the
problem is fixed for every user for
Yes, you are right: The GUI Language is the expected, but the number
format will not be correct. And I agree that this problem should be
fixed instead of implementing the workaround.
But since this bug has been pending for more than a year w/o a fix, my
suggestion is that the workaround should be
I can confirm that the issue still persists in LO 3.4.3, see Bug 46820.
