I had a similar problem. Changing the preview thumbnail to "never"
solved the problem. On an educated guess I removed three ".TIF" files to
a separate directory and turned thumbnails back on. Nautilus hangs
quite religiously if I try to access the directory with the ".TIF" files
in it. Nice and re
I just got it. Thank you Bob W for your advice. I just about went nuts
trying to track this one down - been at it for about 2 hours. Well... I
learned a lot in the process I suppose.
I believe I triggered it by mistakenly deleting "Desktop". Nothing
happened but my very few desktop icons disappear
Affects me on 12.04 wine 1.4. Running 'winserver -p' in a terminal gets
things going.

This occurs at startup for my 12.04 system. Part of the reporting
procedure has a checkbox for "ignore future problems of this type". Do
the maintainers prefer I continue to report it for as long as it keeps
happening?

Happened to me. shutdown ... restart resolved the problem. I have no
idea what precipitated it but will watch for it more carefully from now
on. It didn't affect a few other programs I tried - just Gedit.
