nvidia-settings is now included in nvidia-glx and nvidia-glx-new. I'm
not really sure why the package exists separately anymore. Just run
nvidia-settings from the terminal or alt+F2.

I don't know how to fix the problem, or even if I would call it a
problem, but I believe the reason this is happening is that the Login
Windows Preferences windows is being run by root and so follows the
theme for root not necessarily your user theme. I assume that the root
theme tries to mimic yo

If I zoom and then switch and move the mouse, I get an abnormality (see
attached). I guess this is what mouse meant since it is the way the
instructions are numbered if not how they are ordered vertically.
